Mooivallei farm is in Bonnievale and has a cooperative with a couple of neighbouring farms. They pool all their cream together to be able to make butter (as it is very difficult for one farm to produce enough cream to make butter). They only use cream from these farms thereby ensuring its traceability and that they are grass-fed hormone and antibiotic free. The cream is pasteurised. Churned in the age-old tradition, Rigg’s Butter uses Jersey cream to give a velvety texture and rich colour.
